Nathaniel Ober: is an internationally known experimental digital artist who has a unique hybrid creative practice that spans sculpture, sound, instrument building, digital prototyping, astrophysics, interactivity, immersive environments and more.
Barbara Rosenstock: Author of THE NOISY PAINT BOX, A Caldecott Honor Book! Book Signing and workshop based on her new release The Secret Kingdom, about India’s “outsider" artist Nek Chand. The book themes are refugees, recycling and returning home. The workshop will focus on the book and then participants will make “story bowls” about their family background or culture or immigration using found materials.
Christian Schmit: Work will be on display in our GoldFish gallery, and also will be running a workshop!
Lost in the Making is a series of intricately constructed miniature worlds. Schmit’s fascinating work operates in the monochromatic tone of meticulously transformed consumer-based cardboard packaging from which it is constructed. Furniture, books, typewriters, and fanciful combinations of mechanical parts form a nostalgic archive of our collected world, inspiring awe and fascination from the viewer who, like Gulliver, towers above the artist’s creations.
