Youth Art Month 2019-20
Schools throughout the U.S. are holding flag design competitions! Each state will select a winning flag design, which will be made into a flag and flown with other winning flags representing all states during March - Youth Art Month. Entries should be in color, contain theme "TAKE A JOURNEY THROUGH ART", and contain the text “Indiana” and “Youth Art Month” in the design. This year’s competition is again open to grades K-12 but each teacher may only submit four flags per school in which they teach. AEAI members should send their flags to, Esmeralda Schill; Noblesville West Middle School; 1990 Hague Rd; Noblesville, IN 46062: by November 1st, 2019 or bring designs to the AEAI Convention. Teachers attending the convention in November will judge the flags.

Youth Art Month State House Celebration Information
Eligibility:Open to all students of AEAI members in grades K-12. Participating art educators must be members of AEAI to participate! Join or renew today! Submissions:Please limit submissions to five (5) works per school, per teacher. Works must be two-dimensional and the overall size of the matted work should not exceed 3 feet (includes matting). Prizes & Awards: This is a juried exhibition with one overall award of $1000.00 and grade level prizes in the form of art supplies! All prizes and awards are sponsored by SARGENT ART. Submission Deadline: TBA Presentation: Matte or mount work on lightweight matte or Bristol board. Do not use colored paper, foam core, canvas stretchers, or frames. Matte cannot exceed 3". Registration:Teachers must register each piece of artwork that will be submitted to the show by TBA. Links are below. Labels for Artwork:The official YAM label is required on each piece of artwork. Artwork without the official label will not be displayed. Please attach the student portion of the label (printed on white paper) to front lower right corner of each mat and the other label securely attached to the back. Don’t cover the artwork with the label. Teacher Artwork Drop Off: TBA State House (one may have to park on the street or in a nearby garage during drop off). The State House parking lot opens at 1:30PM. Parking is located in the North lot off Ohio Street. FAQ Q: Can I submit artwork from my Art Club or other group? A: Yes. You can submit up to 5 works (as part of your schools allotment) from your special group for DISPLAY ONLY!
